Unsafe Electrics Letter Example

Hi. Did some testing for a CCU change and socket readings off the scale! I might get the repair/rewire but then again I might not! So is there a 'standard' letter to issue/send client so I have covered myself? Anyone know of one or got one please? Thanks.

Back to the OP's question the way I would deal with it is provide an estimate to investigate/rectify the issues before the CU change could be done. Issues not rectified, then no board change. Simples

Are all these sockets functional at the minute, to be honest the only time i have issued danger notices is in the case of when the DNO equipment is at fault. Is you have deemed the situation dangerous then id be chatting with the customer about the fault and your method of resolving it before issuing this. Its a couple of rings so an hours fault finding should give you a better idea for what its going to cost. If there wanting a board change then surely an hour of your time inst going to break the bank in order to deam the install safe

I issued a danger notice at a house once where the fusebox was under the window in the living room, no cover, busbar accessible, house occupied by a family with young kids.....actually got DNO to cut off power! Police were involved too.

I bet the customer loved you!!

So a house with young kids is put into darkness, because of your danger notice. I don't know what is more dangerous, a CU with no cover, that's probably been like it for a good time, or a house with no means of heating and lighting.... God knows why you got the DNO and Police involved!!!!

There was a bit more to the story than that.....things I noticed about the way the kids were treated. But at the end of the day a toddler playing next to an open and live fusebox.....
