well the, if you come out and tell us your level of expertise. e.g. apprentice, trainee, DIYer, young lad, old fart. then we could allow for it. at present we're pi$$ing to windward in a force 8.

Guys,

I'm basically only asking I've seen this wired in this way and is it ok to be done like this.

im coming on here asking for help to expand my knowledge when I've seen certain things for first time. You all had to start somewhere remember and wasn't born with the knowledge you have today. So please if you want to help me out when asking stuff then it's greatly appreciated. But I don't appreciated being talked down to guys

thanks maggie

If you ask questions which can be answered by applying a bit of common sense or reading your regulations book without doing so then you will receive a bit of banter. If you as an electrician asked the same question on site of other electricians you would be laughed out!

If you are a trainee then you should be asking your mentor, and you can also get access to the trainee section of the forum where such questions will be viewed in a different light.

Are you paul or maggie ?

I agree, everyone had to start somewhere.

Out of interest mate, are you working as an electrician for a company and being given remedial jobs to complete on a price or something ?

You can not appreciate it all you like, but the forum is not here to stop you picking up your regs book or using common sense. If that's the way you are going to treat it then you must expect that you get what you give.

I'm a trainee working for a company.

I think you guys need to give me a break. Yeah some of you giving banter which I welcome, but some people just being plain rude which isn't on.
Well please look at the link Archy gave you, we can put you in the trainee area and we can assess you there and help you accordingly, For your own sake here on the forum stop posting on the open forums and wait until you get into the trainee are Paul.

Apply to be given trainee status here and you will get access to the trainee section. In there you will receive helpful advice on how to find the answers to your questions or work them out

From an earlier posts of yours dated 7th April 2012

"Hi guys,Just looking for some advice!Basically I'm looking to become registered with the elesca! I'm not worried about the assessment itself! However as I'm newish to the industry although I feel I'm competent I don't actually have any previous work to show them!So I'm in the position that I need previous work to show them to be assessed but at same time I need to be registered with them so I can start up and start trading so I cAn sign my own work off!Any advice is greatly appreciated"

"I said it would take me a year but that was to learn everything including commercial and all my onsite dairy stuff that would prob take up a lot of the time. I feel I am competent now but wouldn't want to set up for another few months as a minimum!"

busted.

I thought I remembered you.
