Hello again people,

Okay, IND electrician here... got my part p course coming up so i can dabble in abit of domestics (one day)

What usual checks do you all carry out/do before starting anywork...

Bonding check to Gas/Water... contact the building control...??? anymore 'must checks'?

Check the Ze, cos even if it looks, smells, feels and tastes like a TN-S, it don't mean it's got a good earth!

Check light circuits have an earth. CPC free installations are quite common and need identifying when quoting/ planning.
Also the presence or not of RCDs on circuits of kitchens, bathrooms etc.
