Vauxhall vivaro 07 issues

Oh god the wiring on these is terrible every wire wants to rub and short out and they are all set in the factory to play at least E sharp! Surprised these haven't got 3 reverse gears, mind you the gear boxes are rubbish too so they would probably jam up and you'll still be going nowhere!!

And worse still none of my mechanic mate's have an injector puller that will work on this! So I've had to email a specialist to see if they will get them out!
Why do these things always happen when your really busy too!

Ooh classic car and much respect! Still wouldn't want to own one though!!

i'll stick with my Toyota Hiace. 2004, 220,000 miles on it. a few battle scars, but it will see my working life out, carry my coffin, and no enviromnent damage caused by upgrading to some new electronic controlled fail bag of shyte.

I do like a hiace they are a very reliable van! Had a couple of mates who have done nearly a million miles in them with no major issues! I have a VW LT as well that has done 500.000 miles with very few problems, but that needs a clutch at the moment, typically!

I'm sure I saw that review in Autocar a while back!

I used to like big Citroens, my first car was a CX Safari estate, the insurance cost more than the car. At that time I enjoyed serious mechanical maintenance which was a good thing because it was often necessary. I intend to own an SM within the next two decades.

I even checked all the earth's from the engine chassis ect to make sure it wasn't one of them corroded through causing an issue.

We had this on our GMC Sierra pickup. Would drive fine for hundreds of miles and suddenly cut out. Could be restarted 5-10 minutes later but never logged a code. We suspected loom or connector faults and over time Lester and I had most of it apart with no issues found. Turned out to be a bad earth connection to the engine block where four cables with ring terminals were fitted under an M8 bolt. It looked perfectly clean and tight but there was a film of sulphide on the ring terminals that was creating a variable resistance between the middle two rings and the block. When continuity glitched the entire ECU lost power so never logged anything.

My father went through a Citroen phase and had a CX estate around the time I started driving. I remember them being a constant source of problems, but that CX remains the most comfortable car I've ever driven to this day.

Should mention its drag coefficient and list the vehicles on which CX wing mirrors have been used, but you all probably already know this.

I have a C5 - maybe not as comfy as some of the older Citroens, but it beats it's rivals hands down. Such a shame they've stopped making the hydropneumatic suspension - it's an amazing system.

It was, especially once I had saved up to have the spheres recharged to get it back to top performance. When I had the bonnet up in the school car park, one of my friends came over to have a look. The hydraulic pump gave out one of its little 'crrrrunk' noises that it makes when it tops up the accumulator. Niall looked at me, shook his head and laughed. 'Won't go without that lot, will it? All I need is fuel and a spark and I'm away,' he said. He had a point. A few weeks later, this thing split, stopping me in a puddle of LHM green fluid.

Next was the drive coupling Y-piece that connects the DIRAVI vari-power steering governor into the speedo drive takeoff. DIRAVI gives the car a unique, smooth, vibration-free driving experience because there's no road feedback to the steering wheel, it's 100% power assisted all the time the hydraulics are running (and crazy heavy if they pack up) The governor regulates the pressure to a hydraulic feedback cylinder that creates an artificial feel appropriate to the road speed. So there I am groping about down the back of the engine trying to get an angle on the circlip that holds the little coupling into the final drive, Niall's words tormenting me, 'All I need is fuel and a spark!'

But yes, it's great. Really,

i had a CX estate once. gearbox trouble. the box does not come off, just the casing, leaving a mess of cogs connected to the engine and exposed to wonder at. it went to scrap.

Ah yes. been there, working through the nearside wheelarch. The reverse idler bracket broke away and got chewed between the idler and the casing. Gearbox was full of ali shavings. Cleaned it out and was just putting the selector rods back in when I dropped one of the interlock plungers down into the diff and of course instead of just rolling down to the bottom it got stuck inside the cage. My mate Steve and I spent a week trying to get at the b*****d but had to pull the engine just to free it off.

Well it is all fixed! A thoroughly nice bloke came out this morning and pulled the offending injectors, wasn't the easiest 2 snapped off in the head and the remainder had to be tapped and pulled out! All went back in fine and I have put the rest back together, it is now like a new van again! Whoo!!
Oh also found the oil pipe for the turbo was hanging off, so that won't have done that much good either!
