Vauxhall vivaro 07 issues

Yeah I will spend another few hours on it tomorrow and if it's still not right I will take it to the dealers! I like a challenge but this one has beaten me so far!

Hi everyone, thanks for all your input!
Finally got an answer on what was wrong with my vivaro. Had it code read and pressure tested about an hour ago and it's an injector fault on no2.
Relieved to find out what was causing the issues, now just the job of getting the old uns out and new installed and coded!

Thanks again for all your suggestions, much appreciated ?

So today's mission strip my van out and see how bad the injectors are to get out. This is what I found below all the plastic carp when I finally got it off, only 3 bolts to extract and repair for the cover so far!

A bit of a mess but not as bad as I was expecting having seen some on the web!

Amazingly all the injector clamp bolts have come out no problem at all! Just need a mate to come with a removal tool and try to shibby the injectors out now! With a bit of luck!!

I am very lucky, my dad was in engineering and had a good workshop, and me and my brother took an interest at around 5 so been learning since then. I was in the right place when I left school, I was trained as a multiskilled apprentice so have qualifications in many Engineering fields. I can not only do electrical installation but also Mechanical, machine engineering e.g. lathe work, milling, grinding and also welding, sheet metal work and woodwork! Not much I don't turn my hand to except the wet trades!

I love tinkering with things, always have done!
The biggest trouble with doing as many things as I get up to is having the right tools or something you can modify to do a specific job! Typically my pulling gear won't do injectors so I am hoping a mate has some I can borrow to do it! If not I will either have to buy a puller or make an adapter for the one I have to fit the injectors.
keeps me occupied and out of trouble! ?

had a Primastar once. put me off the type for life. 8 weeks in maina agents for warranty repair ( ECU shutting down, engine stopped. next day might start, might not). after replacing loads of sensors, ECU, etc., they decided it was an injector problem. head off and sent away to an engine specialist, injectors cleaned but no.1 replaced as the broke it. 3 weeks after it came back, no.1 injector blew out of the head, thread stripped. main agents say not our problem, injectors are a serviceable item and not covered by manufacturer warranty. we'll fix for £300 +VAT. this loony.... drilled and tapped theread from 8.0mm to 10.0mm, 10mm x 30mm bolt, cost 40p + 1 hour of my sweat. it lasted till camshaft sensor went for the 4th time and the shed on wheels went to the auction.

A call to the manufacturer and they'd have been quickly disabused of this notion. Injectors are covered by the same warranty against manufacturing defect as most other components.

Failure due to wear and tear (contamination) would need to be proven, before any warranty claim could be dismissed, although your problem sounds more like an issue with their workmanship - either poor (again covered by warranty) or an underlying fault which they failed to diagnose.

Yeah they are not a good Van, this one compared to some isn't that rusty tbh! Yes the same engine as the Nissan and Renault, every bit I have taken off has Renault part numbers! The holes in the head to the cams have a nasty plastic cover that you have to remove to get to the injectors they balance pressure to the turbo and intake, and no you definitely wouldn't want to drop anything in there, that would be a major mission to retrieve!

it's all renault, even down to the dodgy french wiring. they coulldn't wire plug top and get it right. only thing the froggies made that worked were the 3 reverse gears on their tanks in 1940.
