Hi all,

There is a parrallel thread about your favourite VDE screwdriver,

What is the exact reason you prefer one to the other ?
In your opinion, what makes a good electrician screwdriver, and what's the common weakness of each insulated screwdriver you already used ?

I prefer Wera screwdrivers, i only gave them a try after a few recommendations off here (may have been the poll) They are the only driver to feel really nice i your hand when using them. I have actually got a few other sparks to buy a set after giving mine a go.
My new go to brand for drivers......
CK are ok, tips seem to last, don't feel nice to hold compared to Wera, my old "go to" brand was Irazola, but not available locally now ****ty's (C.E.F) stock mega expensive Klien.

I got a set of the brass coloured tip Wera in 2012, and the tips are still good, the terminal doesn't break and the Pz1 and Pz2 only starting to need replaced now, I got another Wera set with the dark grey/black tips. Had them a couple months now and so far so good. My oldest terminal is a Klein that must be 16-17 years old.

Got a large set of ck dextro's - the pozi used to be cr@p but the newer ones seem to be holding up ok. Plus you get a lifetime warranty so just swap them in the wholsalers when they snap or round off.

got a set of wera vdr compakt changeable blade thingy majiggys - they are really decent drivers, tips seem to hold up ok, bit annoying when trying to crank a bigger terminal and the blade pushes in and comes a little loose. Come with meter cupboard keys. I put a set of uninsulated set of bahco snips in the beltloop an keep this set in my meter bag.

recently got a set of wiha's - got them cheap at ÂŁ17 for 6, actually decent drivers not had them long enough to comment on the tips yet though. Got a mate working in america he told me a while back alot of people like wiha for insulated and klein for uninsulated.

Terminal ive been using a 3.5- iiirc - wiha slim driver and its still perfect after 6-7 months now.
