Discuss VERY Tempted to buy the Dilog DL6507... Earth Leakage Tester in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

The Dilog DL6507 E/L clamp test is a sound bit of test kit, at a very reasonable price... More than suitable for your average jobbing electrician, and more!!

Only electricians working on more specialist applications, would find this unit lacking a function or two... You made an excellent choice shortcircuit!!!

Just bought the dilog 6507 and my experience with it so far is for measuring mA on a cpc, provided the clamp is not in contact with or near other conductors carrying current it's seems to give a fairly accurate reading. However clamping the line and neutral conductors as recommended will not give a correct reading in earth leakage current at all. Depending on where the conductors are positioned within the clamp jaws it will give a different, often much higher value in mA than the actual amount of leakage.

Had a 6507 for about 12 months. Very handy and paid for itself quickly. Can't expect miracles for the price but well worth it.
