I know exactly how you're feeling mate, loading out after a gig once a guy thought it would be ok to help himself to my bass guitar which had recently cost me best part of ÂŁ1k.
He didn't realise it was pretty distinctive and a few months later we went to see a local band and their bass player had it, I clocked it as soon as I walked in. Nipped home, quickly got the bill for it (which I always insist the shop puts the serial number on it) and called the constabulary on the way back to the bar where he was playing.
His face was a picture as he tried to tell the boys in blue it had been his since brand new.
I was lucky, I hope you will be too.

Remember the Mayfair Trev?

We were loading out of there one night & the guitarist thought it would be OK to leave his Gibson 335 unattended while he went to the burger van. Needless to say it wasn't there when he came back with his burger !!

He saved up to buy that guitar for months & this was only his 2nd gig with it. He never did get it back.

A few weeks later, we were working a club & there was a lass at the front with a camera taking lots of piccies of him. He thought he was a superstar & was very happy to pose & smile for her & her camera.

Not long after that, he was presented with the piccies when he went to sign-on at the Jobcentre .......

Crikey Geordie how much bad luck can one guy have?
Ah yes the Mayfair. Went to many a gig there and was gutted when they pulled it down.
Which band did you play with mate?

I played in a 50's Rock 'n' Roll band that was quite famous (no names - no pack drill) In the late '60s / early '70's, but that Mayfair job was when I was Sound Engineer / Tour Manager for several bands. The one I mentioned was very well known on the club circuit & that night at the Mayfair was playing support to Rose Tattoo in 1980 something.

The Shadows played the Mayfair, & between the soundcheck & curtain up, someone stole Hank Marvin's echo unit which was a Binson Echorech (I think) so they took him to Barratts music shop on Newbridge Street to get a replacement.

All they had was a Watkins Copicat & legend has it Marvin took one look at it & asked "How do I get a Hank Marvin sound out of it?"

Yes,I know how it feels also.Just had a couple of socket sets vanish.

I've been playing with my socket set today.

I recently bought a 1980 Toyota MR2 to play with during my retirement & have put a new clutch & radiator in it. I'm thinking aboot dropping a 3 litre V6 into it sometime.

Yesterday, I was on until 11pm bailing water oot of me garage. 3" deep it was. This must be the wettest drought on record !!!!

As said local smack heads will know where it is......

My worst criminal conviction is for assault with a deadly weapon, agravated burglary and ABH......

What I actually did was go around to a blokes house and get my stuff back

He had burgaled my house and I found out who and where he was....

Be warned DONT TAKE THE LAW INTO YOUR OWN HANDS

I am still 25 years on suffering as a result!!!
