A friend of mine is having some recurrent problems with these two pole Vistalux RCCBs [i think] going pop for no reason i can discern. The first time it happened was when i pressed the test button a couple of weeks after fitting the new consumer unit and there was a pop and a flash and it never worked again, this time it's after a power cut and apparrently it just isn't working. It's feeding the downstairs ring main and ins. res. tests come back with good results. I'm tempted to wang it in the bin and fit one from a better brand but before i suggest this...any ideas? Thanks.
