Discuss Voltage between earth and switched line terminal on one way light switch in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

Incidentally, whilst re-testing the switch again yesterday with the DiLOG, sometimes the voltage indicator (forked lightening symbol) didn't light up but would always do so if I touched any wall. Temperature yesterday was 31C! and all the walls in the house are of dry lining construction.
are you using the metal brackets in the stud wall to attach boxes to?

if you are do an ir between that and L+N at switch (with all mcb's other than main on)

The back boxes were already in place from original build and they are not secured to any metal parts, in fact they are only held in place by some screws at the corners which penetrate sideways into the plasterboard! Very scrappy practice, I would have used dry lining boxes.

mate if you get there before they board put the metal struts in, they are a lot better than using fast fix boxes
