Some Wago connectors are rated at 24 amps and take cable up to 2.5mm. Would you use them on a ring main circuit?
My concern is that if one leg of the ring went open circuit, the wago would be then used on a radial circuit protected by a 32a mcb.

Considering that 2.5mm cable is also rated at 24A (before any correction factors), yes.

Your concern is justified, and that is the reason why I never use ring final circuits, I always wire in radials on 20A breakers.

2.5mm cable is rated at 27amps before any correction factors. Nothing wrong with ring finals or 24 amp wagos on a ring, ok if it goes "open circuit" then the circuit has been damaged, the same way a radial circuit might be damaged and loose its cpc.

The point is that if the ring circuit becomes a radial circuit the 24 amp rated wago would be on a 32 amp circuit.

The 2.5mm cable is also rated at 24A. If the ring became a radial, the 24A cable will also only be protected by a 32A breaker. There is no issue with you using the wagos.

Edit: Jonny66 beat me to it :D

2.5 is rated at 30A.

On tray in free air!!

Great news! Lets all wire our rings on tray and in free air from now on! I quite like the 'industrial look', I reckon it will go well in the living room! I don't think it will take much persuasion to get my customers thinking the same way :D

I know some steam punk type people who would love that look in their houses, cheaper than MICC...

The repair kit is actually sold by WAGO for that specific purpose (in the wall repair). I had wondered myself about shrinking individually first...
