Over the years I have always used Hager junction boxes , but I am looking to change to wago’s either the 773 or 2273s/2773 as not keen on the price of the 221’s
Any preference and views

Cheers

Horses for courses really.
I keep ideal 3 and 5 way, wago 2273 5 way and 8 way, and the bigger wago's for 6mm in stock.

It might be worth getting along to Toolstation as you can get smaller packs there to try out.

Never been able to bring myself to fully trust ideal connectors or anything other than wago - just a personal thing.

2273s are great for their compact form - especially behind busy switch plates.

773s are solid, reliable and cheap.

221s are great to have to hand due to their versatility and, as @timhoward mentions, the 6mm option.

More often than not I'm supplied with choc blocks in my day job and they do what's needed. When working for myself, there will always be a decent selection of wago's to hand and the cost is neither here nor there in comparison to their convenience.

Edit: It's worth mentioning that wago make many other, similar connectors, and all have their place, but a line has to be drawn somewhere in terms of how many different connectors it is practical to carry.

I been on the phone this afternoon and Wago are stopping to production of the 2273 and when the tooling for the 773 breaks those as well and the 2773 will be the push fit option. Max 4mm2 cable

I'd imagine popularity of the 221 was a factor in that decision and that would still provide a 6mm option. I'll miss the compact form of the 2273 - must see how 2773 compares in size.

I noticed the 2273 were getting harder to get a hold of and worried they would be getting phased out which is a shame. They are ideal for light switched. I have never used the neutral connection in the hager light switches and don’t intend to start

I hadn't actually noticed the change, I'd got a LOT of wago's in stock (so much so, 3 years later I've still not exhausted all of that stock) but have the 2773-103, not got the 2273 version to compare side by side but I've been using it for a few months without realising its different so can't be much in it.

Cancel this...in my Wago fixing tin in the van it's still the 2273-203. In my stores it's 2773-403, so I've not been using them yet. They are a bit bigger
