help me out please guys and girls,
i have agreed to do some domestic work, not something i normally do.
15 years ago i used to do a fair bit but now its nearly all industrial.

some of the work will involve chasing channels, mostly plaster but might have to go a little into the brick every now and then.

what do you use / recommend?
I had originally thought an sds bit that has the flat and 2 edges to define the channel sides would be simple and effective.
now i am not so sure.
what do you suggest? its a renovation project so i am not concerned about mess that can be swept up.
i am not looking for the cheep and cheerful fix, my tools are an investment and i will pay for quality.

p.s. the job starts Wednesday morning so i could do with ordering it tonight or tomorrow, No rush!!

p.p.s, the contractor in charge is a forum member who will probably be laughing at me when he reads this.

I don’t bother with grinders n wall chasers anymore mate, just go in with sds with scrutch attachment, I do have have the metabob as above but unless it’s a big job I don’t find it worth it ?

Edit....or it’s concrete floor construction with a sh£t load of cable drops, in that instance the wall chaser is brilliant ?

I believe the Metabo triple blade version and the Hilti are top of the tree for chasing tools if you want to invest.

I use a ÂŁ100 erbauer with a Henry type vacuum and it does for me. Good value for the half dozen or so rewires it's seen me through so far. A small amount of dust on the plunge in but otherwise pretty dust free. I do want to upgrade to a proper dust extractor though.

I got the titan chaser and titan dust vac does the job for occasional rewire and new sockets etc..
Am really tempted by the metabo 3 blade chaser though...

For smaller occasional chasing I have ordered a dewalt dust guard for my dewalt angle grinder... Waiting for it to arrive from the good old USA as it is ÂŁ15 cheaper including the duties etc than in uk

Mine is this one:
Titan TTB293WCH 150mm 1700W Electric Wall Chaser 230-240V (80530)
Cost ÂŁ85

I’ve got the 54volt Dewalt chaser with the Titan vacuum attached. Works really well and almost no dust........... until I knock out the chase

I've a Metabo MFE40, don't have the triple blades for it, I doubt they would work in breeze block and the like. Also have the Metabo ASR 35 Dust Extractor. Used regularly on refurbs & rewires.

If had just 1 job to do and little use for it there after, I'd either hire the chaser & extractor, or just get an SDS chisel to chase it out
