Sorry hadn't noticed we were in a differnet country :) Up north is slightly more in favour of vertical than down south as GavinA points out, also my comments on permitted development were indeed England specific.

aurora power one pv1 3.6 with two mppt, the client has been made aware of shading issues and insisted on fitting them in this location , beleive it or not the wall string is out performing the roof.

Hideous !!! Keep a spare panel ready, those wall mounted are just waiting to be damaged. Don't think the neighbors will be overly impressed either.
I presume it faces due South ? Think I would have gone for a roof mounted split direction system. Hope owner does not want to sell the property in the next 20 years either.

i couldnt agree with you guys more, all other avenues were explored ie , east and west elevations, garage roof, none of these option were viable due to extreme shading, i was a bit dubious installing these panels and tried to get the guy just to have a smaller system on the wall but the guy insisted, and he was about to carry out all the work himself untill he discovered he needed MCS certs, the guy is extremly happy with the finish. this wall is due south facing on top of a hill, this is his back garden with no neigbours peering. My sub contracted roofer installs my panels and carries out all roof work and is handy with a ladder, harness and inertia reel
