If you're stuck, you can croc-clip the earth pin from your standard extension reel to the MET, and then use a socket-mate tester in the reel sockets to measure from. It works, and they're a lot cheaper than the supposed 'proper' kit.

Out of interest, what is the best gauge tri-rated to use for a wander lead? I guess too small (0.75mm) would be too fiddly to work with unreeling/reeling, or is that not the case? Perhaps 1.5mm is the best compromise?

All sorted for £20 posted just have to stick it all together! bargain

im ordering my bits now,how did you manage £20 all in?

extension reel £4.99
Croc clips £2.79
Banana plugs for croc clips £3.29
Speaker chassis 4mm plugs £4.95
Tri rated cable £9.99

TOTAL £26.01

Am i missing something?

*UPDATE*

I've had a message from the bloke who I bought mine from thanking me for starting this thread.

He says that he's now sold out (he only made 4 of them) but he'll have another 10 for sale next week if anyone is wanting one.

He won't need them as everyone's going in to R2 lead making!!!! lol
