'warmup' electric underfloor roll out heating matts

Hi, I'm about to start first fix and have just been dumped with the job of providing power for about 5 roll out underfloor heating matts in 5 different rooms. Whats the usual way supply power to these? Is it best to take power from the ring main or independent radial circuits or install another ring circuit? ..... the customer would also appreciate it to be fast and cheap....as usual. any help appreciated! thanks

What are the power consumption of the heating mats?

3x 500w 1x400w and 1x 600w

there's 3 to go on 1st floor and 2 to go on ground floor

So 2.5 KW to be added to the total loading of a RFC if it was me I would run separate circuits, may be even a small CU dedicated to the UF Heating, over cautious? but that's my take.

To add to my last, although I don#t like to do this you could always fuse each mat down via a FCU off of the RFC, but you would still be interfering with the RFC loading, not sure this way is safe enough but I personally think my first way is the one I would opt for

agree with pete. a new radial for the mats in 2.5mm. 5A FCU take off for each one, alongside the stat.

FFS - they want you to 1st fix for 5 x underfloor heating systems, plus presumably checking the matt after install and connecting up the systems on 2nd fix.

If they can afford 5 x under floor systems, charge them the proper rate!

And yes a dedicated radial is probably the best way to go.

same as above, i'd just run a 16/20A radial to supply the mats with a SFU at each point
