Hi all,

What do people do about providing warranties for the roofing work?

The products are covered by the manufacturers warranty. NIC-EIC provide a warranty against non- conformance to regs, but I'm not sure what sort of warranty we can provide for the actual installation

Your customers can purchase an insurance to back your warranty on the installation for up to five years. This is through the QANW insurance provided by REAL.

That's if you offer a 5 year workmanship warranty, it is then still YOUR liability, the insurance is for the consumers peace of mind for if / when you cease trading.

If you only offer one year, then the QANW/REAL assurance is for one year.

QANW offer their own package if yiu want to go to 10 years, so do Independent Warranty Association (IWA) - Deposit Protection & Guarantee Insurance and REIGA - Renewable Energy Installation Guarantee Agency

Though if you are still trading, you then need to accrue reserves on your accounts to cover your liabilities.
