Bit of a fast ball.

My missus is determined to have a new washing machine! I am more determined to spend that three hundred quid wisely investing it with william hill (other bookmakers could also be used(I'm not advertising)) whilst slurping strongbow.

Anyway our washing machine has wrapped it's ---- in after a paltry 8 years. Bosch, crap german engineering, surely had we bought a british model it would still be going strong!

Having stripped and analysed it to death I have established that there is a short to earth from the rotor. A new motor is ÂŁ167 plus vat. Is there any hope of me being able to fix this fault and where in the rotor would the short be likely to occur. Would it be in the winding, if so it's game over.

Any help appreciated.

so was it matching his n hers ironing board & iron then?

tell me....are you going for the tumble dryer as well so she can have the full set?

Got a good deal down the car boot , a BOGOF offer , the mother in law gets the other ironing board .

She's still using the scrubbing board over the bath so I really envy the op for getting his misers the washing machine

Still beggers cant be choosers can they LOL

I thought about gift wrapping Tidyboiler's Christmas prezzie but in the end decided to give it to her in an ASDA carrier bag.

Just use tin foil...

Its quick, easy and looks shiny. No messing about with sellotape. They love it. The OP could of had the washing machine done in 2 mins.
