water heaters above bath in zone 1

a periodic report reports that a water heater is not allowed in zone one. the 2.5 supply cable is clipped direct going into the bottom of the heaters. the heaters store more than 15 litres. regs wise whats the deal. how do i make them comply without moving them. rcd yes but what else? thanks

If the equipment is fixed, permanently connected and suitable for zone 1 (according to the manufacturers instructions) then there is no reason to change anything, is this not the case?

I would have thought the regs would be refering to a shower when it mentions water heating device.

just a big vented cylinder type tank with an element inside i guess
. more than 15 litres, dif rules for heaters with less than 15 litres. tanx

usually these water heaters are non IP rated where the cover for the element is

Boxing it means it's excluded from the usual zone rules doesn't it? Seems like a good idea to me

I agree with boxing in, maybe fitting a cover held with screws as opposed to a door?

Hinged cover would be fine as long as was secured by a screw/key operated lock etc.

Box it in and just give access to suit its access needs, ie service maintenance = Screw
