i got one 250mm knipex alligator grips vde and one knipex wrench pliers 250mm vde, love em

Ditto. Despite the difference in price I wouldn't say the mechanism on the alligators is in any way 'inferior' - I find it a bit easier to adjust.

I have some Rothenberger tools, they are first class quality, or they used to be . Mine are getting on a bit lol.

lol, still not bad kit imo. Just brought a rothenberger blow lamp for £60

The knipex are great,the slip-joint type,such as the Rothenberger,can be spragged if used two handed and are possessed of awesome wasts.

There are also differences in use,between smooth and serrated jaws.

can't beat bahco. anti-slip lock is indispensible.

Yea i was about to buy the bahco's but then wondered what else is available, Knipex grips seem popular, i'l check them out.

is it worth getting VDE?
