Interview done this morning. Had a brain fart on the control panel he pulled out but it seemed to go fairly well. Fingers crossed but to be honest I don't think I've got the job.

Chemical dosing is also a big part of clean/waste water treatment- which can include dosing pumps, actuator valves, differential pressure transducers, ultrasonic level transducers, pressure transducers, chemical analysing equipment, PLC controlled dosing plants which will challenge your process control experience

at the moment, i dont have anything to do with the dosing equiopment, as thats usually installed by specialist contactors, and it all turns up pre-wired on PVC sheets, ready for final connections.

The job was minor panel work, pump installation and maintenance and also chucking in their rental pumps. Sounded a lot more interesting than house bashing and a little smellier...

Had a quick tour of their shop floor, mainly used for refurb of pumps etc, sounds like a case of replace pumps and send them back for overhaul.

Good luck Strima.

Get your foot in the door and you'll find yourself enjoying it, despite the smell. Lynx under arm ain't going to help.

Bimbi,
Your command of English is appalling, and you have not realised that this forum is thousands of miles away from the site you have posted we are a UK forum, you posted a spam US link.
This just discredits your suggested link as you have no idea of your prospective audience.

Shame it's a spambot that actually has no idea of what you're saying...

And I don't think I got the job as I haven't heard back, oh well, onwards and upwards.

I've only just picked up on this thread. The advice given was by people who know what they are on about. Motor control centers, NV or shunt tripping, earth leakage systems. These parts demonstrate technical knowledge. Also there may be larger motors therefore are the breakers and maybe isolators air break, vacuum, SF6 or oil, I am looking from an aged mining view. Also knowledge of wiring transducers, most probably like for like. Poo Farms will measure turbidity and flow and depth (maybe a view of V-notch channels will/would have impressed). If you are in this field and have the money do a PLC course. It doesn't/shouldn't matter which they are all a variation on a theme ie ladder/relay logic, communication cable, communication software and away you go. I would imagine in these days of flexibility a knowledge of different types of pumps and coupling (fluid etc) would help.

Cheers for the response mate. I have a base understanding of PLC's and their programming to help with with fault finding etc.

Judging from the interview it appears there would have been on-site training, most of the work seemed to be pump replacement and temporary installations.

Pretty certain I haven't go the job but hopefully this thread will give others some pointers for the future.
