It could have been alot worse mate he was going to fast which is why the back slipped out when he braked and steered to avoid you.

*Alot of that would probably polish out looks mostly like paint transfer your bumper needs clipping back into the drivers side wing if the wing isn't deformed and needs pulling out.

* if it was me i'd be concerned about my painful neck
There are holes in the bumper the headlight is scuffed so may not polish out and these are Japan parts only, the wing is pushed in and can be pulled out my body shop guy tells me.

The prime cause of the accident, was the excess speed of the Vectra driver, for the conditions & the distance he could see to be clear.

When (you) entered a minor road, (your) view of the road ahead would be temporally restricted (obviously the field of vision of a human eye(s) is better than a (dash) camera), so due care & attention is needed. But envisaging a car broadside, is not reasonable, albeit in poor road conditions.

However, insurance companies, seem to have a differencing of opinions in apportioning blame.

Right I see I thought those marks on your bumper were dirt/ice.

* The fact you have video evidence will swing it and technically he hit you, you were stationary.

Cheers

Yep I've been thinking of one of those dash cams. Manufacturers might catch on, as most new cars have got front & rear cameras. Just needs some storage device.

And if you pause it at 0:07 he's a good bit over and that's why he's panicked look at the distance between him and the flat bed tranny and the scuff of ice to the left where a car was parked on the left.

Maybe he's allowed for the fact those flat bed trannys side mirrors stick out some ways from the vehicle ..?

He would have got away with it if he was closer to the tranny van.

Cheers

Any dash cam recommendations?
The one I have is this one, I also hardwired in a 12V to 5V power unit with 2 USB's and added a longer USB lead for a neat instal, I had one in the Lotus now have one in the Subaru as well as in the girlfriends Clio which I need to hard wire in one day.

They don't have motion detect for when the car is parked up but when I fire up the car they power up and start recording.

If you spend a lot of time on the road then maybe front and rear recording is a better option and if you are self employed then its all tax deductible.

Hate to be a pedant but it's an Insignia not a Vectra.

Fair lump of car to be coming at you sideways right enough!

I've a dashcam in the van and you've just reminded me I haven't transferred the other into my new car yet!
