What a disgrace!!

Hi,
Ive just been generally looking on the internet seeing if anything is out there (not looking for a job) but I came across this!
Its an absolute disgrace how someone is advertising that rate for an electrician! I wouldnt even labour for that hourly rate! Its absolutely taking the **** People havent trained for 5 year for crap like that. I dread to think the future of the industry.

seriously working in schools, nursing homes sounds like a government contract, so thats what they believe we should get paid hmm.
i would hate to sugest something underhand but i would like it if everyone applied for it and then never turn up on starting day and tell them why.

Maybe we should all call up to query the rate.
"Sorry, it said £7-8 on the advert, surely that's a mistake?"
If 20 or 30 of us call up they might get the message.

Thats Agencies for you, I have even seen an electricians job advertised for 6.50 per hour, last time I think they got paid that rate was back in about 1985 or something.....rediculous, you can bet though that the agency will give the "tough times" "its all I could get you I tried I really did but the client wasnt having it"......patter.........agency gets 20/ph to take you on (intended to cover wages and tax, plus a small% for the agency) what ends up happening is agency gets 20pounds per hour, pays you 8, takes off tax, national insurance and EMPLOYERS national insurance from you, then charges you 25 pounds a week for umbrella services (done by computer) and one day the tax man comes knocking because they have messed up somewhere...and you get a big bill with an "or else" clause on it....
