Now if we are installing air con units into offices etc, are we legally covered to be putting in the isolators/wiring to the fuse boards? Or will we have to get a CITB Gold card chap to do this?

In what (if any ) circumstances would a 2330 Level 3, NVQ3 electrician be legally required for this?

Is it legal to install the wiring as essentially we are air conditioning engineers, originally i was an electrical engineer and im more than happy at doing the work, but i do not want to be breaking the law.

Regards, Scott

i think you may have misunderstood me rumple.

I was saying that time served/experienced electricians have a far higher degree of knowledge.

Im not pretending to be an electrician here, i merely want to be fully responsible for the air conditioning installions i undertake in any project. Including the wiring to the units....

I am saying that the checks carried out on the circuits we will be installing are infact very simple. Whereas what you guys do on HV systems in huge factories are far different.

yes mate. As most new build will already have sparky contractors doing all youre work to spec. We are jsut in for air con.

But im really aiming this towards frech new systems in existing premises. Also perhaps different systems to what are installed, which will obviously need different cabling/breakers/isolators moving etc....

I want to be 100% legal thants all. I am confident in my installion capabilities, and wish to test and certify accordingly.

Scott.
