i gave mike a straight and the quality of that carbon steel is a lot better than a lot of new products.
my oldest razor is from the late 1800's and is the best quality razor i own
.. and if you're not happy with High Carbon Steel (ÂŁ cheap) or High Speed Steel blades (ÂŁ not so cheap) try Tungsten Carbide blades (ÂŁ getting pricey)..... after that you're getting into diamond tipped blades (ÂŁ you don't want to know!!)teritory .....
Did I hear the word Diamond? :dita:
Your screen name maybe should be Sweeney Todd.
The cheapest, none of them last long these days in any case, manufacturing is no longer quality as previous years, vertually all drills are made in china lol
go on amazon and buy some dewalt extreme 2 bits.I thought that the other week... it's all crap... buy it cheap, so I stocked up on silverline HSS drill bits. I snapped 2 6mm bits trying to get them to make a mark on a metal clad box.... blunt as a proverbial and weak as creamflow !!
The 4mm ones just about struggled into a pine curtain pole.... utterly useless for purpose.
honestly im going to buy more of the dewalt bits, until you hit concrete etc there good (look like a bugger to sharpen)I knew they would be crap shanky.... Just not made of glued together spaghetti sticks
Another vote for Q max punches!
I spent about ÂŁ60 on a set from 16mm to 50mm and only use holesaws for thicker steel with a slow speed drill (rarely have to do this though) or plastic
I hate it when you are drilling and they wander and leave a sharp ring of bare metal behind
Use the punches with a ratchet and hex socket to speed up things a little
oh and oil or wd40, clean holes every time. ...
Most people see them and say it looks slow but they're always impressed with the finished results! and how much less swarf is created to be left in the enclosure.
