What can I do?

Hi all,

I have been called out to a client who is living in a rented property. After visually inspecting the installation I can say that the state of the installation is life threatening. Sockets being broken and hanging from the wall just to start with. Also distribution board without lid and wires hanging out.

The tenant is aware of the situation but he says that the landlord does not care about this problem.

What can he do in this case? And what could i do?

I know it is not my fault but I feel terrible since there are children in that property who are now in huge danger.

serve an Dangerous electrical notification on it straight away( deliver it tonight ) send it by recorded to the address and the landlord. Inform Your LABC, if its that dangerous leave a message on the councill phone line now. Do something now mate, cover your bak.

I agree with above DNO should force landlord to make good or they will withdraw the supply.

Thanks guys! I did write a letter to the tenant where I highlight the dangers of the installation.
Tomorrow I will try to contact city council as well.
