Just done a pir and all ok but in garage area all cables twin and earths are clipped direct to brick work for about 5metres would you code this possibly code 3 or let it go should be in trunking for me

cables below 2 meters or at risk from mechanical damage should be mechanically protected. if you think there's a risk of damage, make it as a note in the comments section.

Must remember to mechanically protect all my extension leads in future. Twin and earth has an outer sheath to protect it, much the same way as an extension lead.
Unless the environment warranted additional protection, then I agree with Telectrix.
Regulations, and more regulations. The more you think about it, the crazier it gets.
Bury it in the wall its better protected. But now you cant see it so add an RCD.
Leave it on the surface clipped direct, now you can see it. Only need the RCD if its supplying outdoor equipment. But now you need additional mechanical protection.
Boy oh boy, what a mess. lol.
Oh well, if in doubt chuck a code at it, 4 will do !! Oh no, sorry I mean C3. Oh hang on its still December, so maybe 4 will do. :rolleyes2:

True. Although I'd hazard a guess that things like woodworm treatment are probably chemically quite similar? Don't know.
