Hello im 19 and have completed lvl 1-3 electrical installation 2365 and about to get my 17th edition and testing qualifications. im a bit confused on what cscs card i should get do i just get a cscs labourer card or something else? might sound a bit stupid but yeah

I've just sorted mine out, you get a ecs labourers card which is an unskilled card but that's all we can have until you get on a nvq because the trainee card needs qualifications you don't get off 2365 course. The test is 42 quid. I have been and done that recently, and the card is 36. I have just posted mine, you don't need a sponsor or proof of qualifications for the labourers card.
soo i should go for a ecs labourers card? "edited i misread" thanks for the information guys! <3

I did the ECS health and safety test 2 weeks ago. I'd say it was easier than the H&S elements in C&G 2365 level 2. I had it done in 10 minutes. If you just want a basic, ungraded card to get on site (as I do) then all you need is the H&S pass. That's what JIB told me to do.

Yes I agree, I took mine and then went through it all again to make sure I got them all right, less than 20 mins for both times, so 10 mins is about right, very easy, I got 100%, so would my lakeland terrier as well, very simple.

I did mine exam in Jan '14 and from sending sending paperwork off after I got my results back took about 3 weeks. Mine came back as a Trainee Electrician Stage 1
2330 lvl 2
2365 lvl 3
2377 for what it's worth
17th edition

at the moment in my area there is not much electrical work i keep getting offers in Manchester and london etc but there just way to far. i can get on site labouring making ÂŁ8 a hour but you need a cscs card. will a ecs card let me do that or do you need a cscs labouring card. >.<.

take in mind im 19 cant drive etc. so i need to fund my tool kit , driving licence and get a little run around so i can travel to these electrical jobs :p

its just annoying because since july the 1st you need a h&s test and people are charging ÂŁ125 o_O then the cscs is around ÂŁ75 thats alot for a person that is not working.

I had a card for driving a dumper truck.

Boss was told I had to have some sort of card and he would have to pay ÂŁ--- for me to have it.

He found out that there was a national shortage of Dumper Tuck drivers and if he sent me for training & assessment he would get not only the cart I needed but THEY would pay Him the ÂŁ---!!!

And so it came to pass that GS spent a week bombing around a clarty field on a Thwaites Front-Tipping dumper truck in the pi$$ing rain.

It was the only time in my working life that I ever wore a Hard Hat and I wore it just to keep my hair dry. :)

As for the ÂŁ--- he got paid; we split that between us & went to the pub.
