Ok Chaps...!! seen as we all Qualified Sparks (hopefully) what type of CU is fited into your house and do you have the required safety Mods as per 17th

Example for me!

MEM Eaton Split Load Box, 16mm Tails, Gas Bonding only (water is plastic pipes inc incoming pipe)

lets see who is dragging there feet with practising what they preech!

nice post. me, got 8b way wylex, 1 RCD covering whole installation. put in about 2006 as a stop gap replacing old 1950's board. not enough room in cupboard to fit anything bigger. just had new digital meter fitted by united useless, so now have room to fit split board. gwt round to it soonest

mine as fitted 5 years ago is a 12 way wylex split load 6+6, 25mm tails, 16mm main earth, water and gas all bonded tails upgraded, all as it should be and all upstairs lights re- wired for the spots i put in. mk sockets and fcu`s in bedrooms.
all good to be in service at the end of the day i would not make someone elses house safe and leave my own un touched. oh and the rcd is pressed as it should be. mains smokes all over the house

Mine is a square D. 6 way with an RCBO on the ring only (1 ring for the whole house) haven't got time to upgrade, too busy painting and decorating, mowing the lawn, claning the gutters, and doing all the other things that the missus thinks look pretty.

2 x 6 way mem memara cu's 1 with 30mA upfront RCD for sockets etc. The other has no RCD protection for lights etc. 16mm tails, 16mm earth & 16mm main bond to water. Supplementary bonding all in place. All perfectly safe in IMO.

Wylex x8 way.

Cooker
Lights
Kitchen Ring
House Ring
Immersion
Shower

On off peak supply
Bedroom wall heater
Living room wall heater

All protected by one RCD. (Im in a flat.) except for off-peak wall heaters. Bonding 10mm, supplementary bonding in place. 25mm tails. TNCS supply.

just to digress slightly from main topic...... i have read on this forum that DNOs are preferring 80A cut-out fuses rather than 100A which has been the norm for some time. now, as the incoming supply is in 16mm, does that mean that we can go to 16mm tails. never could understand why 25mm tails were ever used or specified. no doubt someone more knowledgeable than me will explain

I have a rusty old 3036 board with no rcd protection whatsoever. The sockets in the lounge and bedroom are around 20mm from the floor on wooden skirting trunking, with switched fused spurs for wall lights. There is one circuit for the bathroom heater, a wall light in the lounge, and the microwave in the kitchen.
All the light switches are different heights.
Looks to be TN-S but i don't want to poke around too much for fear of opening a can of worms.
Obviously the property is rented; I get the impression for the last 20 - 30 years nothing has been replaced properly, only patched up on the cheap.

It seems to work ok, which is good enough for me.

A Wylex high integrity board, 25mm tails 16mm earth and 10mm water/gas bond. All pretty new and shiny as it was for an assessment.

Wish i'd have chosen something other than Wylex now with the dodgy recalls.

Done all mine for last years nic assessment, square d split load board 5 circuits on each, 10mm2 bonding done 25mm2 tails,16mm2 earth, i do like things safe as the board before was in a right state with cicuits interconnected all over the shop in the board and numerous faults throughout the installation so obviously was'nt tested when installed back in the 80's

got quite a collection on here!! oh forgot to mention i also have a MK 2 way box in Garage with overall RCD and exported Earth on 2.5mm cable from a 6mm supply! (earth from the T&E) :) total load of 3Amps unless my dryer is in use...!
