Ok Chaps...!! seen as we all Qualified Sparks (hopefully) what type of CU is fited into your house and do you have the required safety Mods as per 17th

Example for me!

MEM Eaton Split Load Box, 16mm Tails, Gas Bonding only (water is plastic pipes inc incoming pipe)

lets see who is dragging there feet with practising what they preech!

Hager 12 way split load 16th board, 16mm main earth TNC-S recently upgraded, 10mm main bonds 25mm tails. 6mm supp bonding everywhere. Tails split in henly for 16 mm SWA for garage. Garage has 6 way board and is TT

TNS supply
10mm or 6mm Main with NO sleeving (cant remember or bothered to look)
25mm tails
Wylex single RCD 10 way board

Oh dear, erm no bonding..... its the next job to be done!! (honestly, just keep getting distracted and have 5 RCBO's to add aswell)

Hager fitted with BS 1361 cartridge fuses. RCD protection on all sockets (3 ring final circuits) and the upstairs lighting circuit (all circuits protected by same RCCB). 10mm earthing conductor, 16mm tails. Main (10mm) and supplementary (4mm) bonding in place. TN-C-S system. Ze 0.1 ohms.

Warning label RE: wiring colours to two versions of BS 7671 in place.

Generally in very good condition. And a nice 500W floodlight out the back to kill the polar bears! :)

My house crabtree starbreaker 16 way with RCBO protection on each circuit ,as for telex question ,in my area the standard fuse on the DNO side was 60 amp until recently although almost every cut out was labled as 100 amp , now all cut outs that are upgraded have an 80 amp fuse ,theoretically 16 mm tails would be adequate ,but if you take into account regulation 514.3 the minimum meter tails should be 25mm , now the funny part regulation 434.3 ,where the metr tails are protected against fault current by the distributors cut out the method of installation, maximum length and minimum cross sectional area must comply with the requirments of the distributor , yes so why do we find 2.5 mm 6mm connecting CDU's up to a sealed meter eh
