Location
Under the banana tree.
As per title;
My Last day off work will consist of a bit of breakfast , followed by 30 minute clear out of my van cab, quick hoover and clean.
Lounge about talking to you Bum's , then a few cheeky beers with possibly a Dvd, followed by talking to you Bum's a bit more then a reasonably early night, ready to spring into action in the morning.
What about you lot.

well I won't be sorting out or cleaning my van today like most of you seem to need to do!
did mine yesterday. every Sunday usually without fail. tidied out, cleaned inside and washed.
could do with a polish sometime soon though...

Another little job for today is to swap over the 5 halogens in my bathroom to LEDs. I picked up 200 x LEDs + GU10 lamp holders the other day for a job I'm doing this coming week. Whoops I ordered a few too many! Shame to just have them sitting around for the next job lol. Perks of the job

Paul If you post your location there may be a member close by, and i am sure it won't be an expensive job, it's better to besafe than sorry.

christ! how many do you need for the job?

Need about 190 for the job. Ordered a few extra in case of faulty goods but these are a good brand so should be ok. You think spending a grand on "light bulbs" is bad, try ordering 600 x 3 lever Wago's!!!! Wholesalers did not have that amount in stock but could get me the 5 lever Wago's the next day at the same price!!!!! Bit his hand off! Not going to use them on this job, keep them for when I need them and buy some 3 levers from somewhere else.

What Led's do you go for Paul . It's always good to get various recommendations for future projects. And yes good buy on the wago's i spend a bloody load on the things, but they are a quality product.

I took the dog for a walk early and I've been doing paperwork since. I have a 20 meter box gutter between my house and the garage which needs replacing. I folded up new aluminium pans on Friday and I'll probably start installing it this afternoon.

I gave the shop some samples so they could see the color and difference in brightness. They have gone for the Everyready 3w (35w equivalent) cool white with the 15,000h/15 years* (*= based on 2.7 hours use a day). Cheaper than the others but saved them around ÂŁ700 on the other samples they saw.

Another main point is the amount they are saving on their electric bill. ÂŁ15k over 5 years!

GMES I think a LED thread would be a great idea, would help us lot in making the correct choice of expensive lamp in the future.

Yes i agree paul, i am mainly industrial / commercial and as we know they are becoming more and more popular in replacing the lowbays and highbays, and can produce massive savings for the customer!
Ps you can call me Glenn unless it gets to confusing with our other friend Glenn.

I've just spent the past 8 working days changing 55W lights for 15W LEDs
we had 150 to change including around 50 emergency lights

Since I'm not qualified I must of done 115 of them, guess that's just how it goes

It was a 2 week trial to see if he wanted to take me on board, after the first week he said come sign a contract and I'll get u in an apprenticeship, so happy days

I have pics to put up at some point of my handy work ha

Hi Chris I'm glad the job went well for you, sorry i didn't get time to pop in and see you, just been busy. And i am really glad you seem to have got an apprenticeship out of it.
Can you just explain the line i have highlighted as i cant understand it, but that could just be me!

Have you used these yet?

LED Panel 600 x 600 35W | Midselec.co.uk

(other retailers are available lol)

What a massive difference to tubes. Ok they are a bit pricey but save loads on running costs. Also do ceiling mounted and they are nice and slim and look like a "sun light hole" ( you know what I mean??).

Technology is fast moving in the lighting field and we need to keep up on new products and the best prices. Give it 10-15 years and everything will have to be LED. Saving the planet one light bulb at a time lol.

No worries "Glenn"
