Hi, So I have done lots of research about going back to college and studying Electrical Installation Level 2 and 3 (2365). I know you then have to do some sort of additional qualification the practical side I guess to get signed off on. Not quite sure of the name / number if somebody could remind me. I have heard that it is really difficult you get all this signed off and become qualified. As getting a job as an Electricians Mate is quite limited as it looks. I am 20 Years Old and have looked at apprenticeships, however most seem to be looking for younger school leavers. Any help with what I do after the Level 3 2365, What is the best way to complete the portfolio.

Thanks In advance!

- Just to add the course I am looking at is at a College and lasts 30 months ( Level 2 12 , Level 3 18). Do you recommend doing an intensive course, if so any providers you recommend.

Think it's now 5357.

There is another route. Do your level 3, am2 and then there's a bridging unit (could be a couple)

I'm sure that's still a certified way to be fully qualified other than an NVQ.

Wouldn't be so sure about the college's just wanting school leavers. Our group is an equal split of 18-19's and above 30's. Might be an idea to go and talk to a local college.

Jack, 12 months for Level 2 is correct but 18 months for Level 3 is straining it out a bit mate. 1 full day per week should take 9 months. Have a word with the college and see if they are only doing 1/2 day?

Beyond this, have a word with XS Training via private message and ask if all the tasks you do in the work shop at college can go towards your portfolio for your NVQ3???
