I went to the local greasy spoon for a breakfast the other day , I said " can I have two eggs one with burnt crumbs on the top and the other with the yoke burst and running over the side of the plate with a bit of smoke ash in it. can you burn me sausages and give me a slice of raw bacon an put sour milk in me tea" She say's " I aint got time to do all that" I said " You did yesterday"

Money is an obvious one,Money AND thanks is always better, but the satisfaction of finding a fault after one or two have already tried and failed makes all the other pains worth it. Even if the largest reading on the SOTR is the resistance of the customer to pay...

i just like trying to find the money for the tools you need, and spending loads of money on my account and spending the cash when i get it and then having to ly low for few weeks and eat at my oms till its payed...

imgetting worse so i dont like it at all and definatly dont like working for someone else unless stop for decent breaks and dont mind teaching you a little and not give you the same amount as turk for clean a pair of shoes(equivalent)

so what il i learn now

I like the fact that our work is so diverse. So i could be wiring one day, testing another, fault finding anotherday, and fabrication of bends for containment the next. I do enjoy my job, but i wish I was paid more!

Ditto Ditto! I like the variation too.
I did my apprenticeship on small ,mainly domestic, work.
Then spent 2.5 years in the merchant navy, 4 times around the world.
Works for some time in heavy and light engineering works.
Worked in Australia for 2.5 years.
Spent 20 years on Data Comms and IT.
Now retired but still doing a bit of light maintenance, "Non reportable" of course.

You never know it all, it will hopefully keep my mind active till my fuse blows.

Best job in the world
Phil

I like making unsolicited phone calls to telemarketing companies, web directories and 118.com, and asking them if the would like any electrical work doing....
