Builder has done some work Inc.Electrical I have gone to test it and it's failed one of the reasons is it should be red protected I have changed the board and got it up to scratch
But
The owner says if it had to have a new fuse board the builder should have fitted it ! The builder says I did not quote for a new board
So the owner is taking out of the builders money for fuse board change and remedial work to pay me the builder is saying ok for remedial work but not to fuse board change

Who do you think is right?

Stay well out of it!

What and who did you quote originally?

The guys I work along side allow me to come in and do the quote direct for the client - then I'm to blame if anything goes wrong.

Not with the builder told the customer what was wrong she said fix it . I spoke with the builder asked If he would like to come over so I can show him what his chap had done wrong ! Mentioned the changed fuse board
That's when it started

did you quote the customer for a new CU? if so, and he/she said get on with it, then it's his/her obligation to pay for it. if the builder's work required RCD, then you can't expect him to pay for more than RCD protection for his work. i suggest that you get the cost from the home owner, and he/she should then go halves with the builder.

In all seriousness, the customer instructed you to sort it out so you should look to her for payment, how she gets the money is not your concern.

All I was asking do you think she is right or wrong she is now saying that the builder should have fitted the rcd cu as it was a requirement when he did his electrical work
The builder is saying I did not quote to change the fuse board so I will not pay for i
