Morning,

I have attached a couple of pic's for you all to have a look at. I am finding it hard to know wether this is a TN-C-S or a TN-S.

Can anyone confirm. My thought is it is TN-C-S...

Thanks in advance. (still learning...~)

It is very hard to tell what you have there to be honest as you may find that the incomer cable is carrying an earth core with it.

There are several ways to check.

1. Call the DNO, this could be a fruitless exercise as the chances of you finding anyone to talk to that knows what your talking about is slim, but worth a try.

2. Take a Ze reading, if it's anything over 0.20 then chances are it is TN-S, but not always, but it can give you a guide.

3. Which will most likely be the best way to check is do a PSCC and PEFC test, if they are very close to same then it is TNC-S, if they are quite different then TN-S

My personal guess without doing the PSCC and PEFC test is TN-S just due to the age of the head.

:tounge_smile:Be sure bud but take a ZS reading first to be happy there is one

but if you are not sure dont worry get them in its a free service and its there issue depends is there any out buildings on the same supply

get them or remove the cover and a totall guess would you get continuity across them

but some one will tell us off sorry

good luck:tounge_smile:

That's a PME connection. You can clearly see the the neutral concentric part of the cable being taken to the neutral block. The only reason you can see this, is because there is no cable sealing chamber to this cut out arrangement.

That is Not a sheath earth, coming off the cable, look at it more carefully, and you can see the concentric arrangement.
