what is the best type of multimeter

why does every thread about the best multimeter turn into a discussion about multifuction testers? i would go with Fluke mate, 113 model probably but i'm still using an older model.

If you really mean multimeter rather than MFT, then Gossen Metrawatt are probably the best out there. I have the Metrahit Especial which has great specs and is a really nicely designed bit of kit. Makes the Fluke 287 that I use at work feel like a toy.
