Hi I have come home and at the bottom of my drive way have noticed this thing bolted about 7ft up the telegraph pole with a laser/laser radiation warning sticker on it.

Anyone know what this is and what it does or what all the numbers mean?

Let's see if this link works for the picture :)

But just in case it doesn't, it's a Prysmian optical fibre jointing system. I suspect the numbers are circuit/service identifiers and the laser radiation symbol is on there so as to make sure people don't open it without suitable eye protection.

Awseome thankyou, nothing to worry about then?

Apparently they're expecting an influx of Scousers into Essex, so BT are removing all the copper and replacing with fibre.
bllooody spoilsports. have to search the midlands now.

BT were pulling the copper cable out round our way a few years ago, apparently BT was getting ÂŁ3000 for a skip full.
BT copper pairs are horrible to work with, they're packed with grease. stuff gets everywhere...
