Some people value family time at Xmas over any paying job…. Whatever money is being offered.
Mother in law showing up and subtly criticising everything, assorted kids fighting over new toys and with each other, other peoples dogs running riot. I'd have been off to the hotel like a shot for that kind of money, right after negotiating the turkey dinner into the agreement.

Yes, getting Part P would definitely help i think...the only think I would be worried about is what I am expected to know to get it,.....I do have the 18th edition exam (after 4 tries)....but I understand that you have to some new circuits to be inspected....but if I am excluded from installing new circuits by virtue of my non Part P status i will have nothing to be inspected on.....a bit of a catch 22 situation i think......how do others get around this?

Agree almost completely, but not quite. There would be a figure offered that you would have started thinking, 'crikey, I'll take that'.

For me, to leave my family, son, cousins, Aunties and Uncles on Christmas day, drive from Cornwall back to Gloucestershire to do a job for a hour..... I would say £2000 would do it. Of course my 16 son wouldn't care at all as he'd be playing with his cousins and I'd bring back the rest of the family £500 worth of top quality chocolates and pocket £1500, then settle down to a nice Boxing day, having avoided all the family drama of Christmas Day.
