I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but I wondered what kind of electrical work everyone does?
For me I'm self employed for 2 days a week and employed for the other 3. For both jobs I work in the further/higher education sector installing and maintaining most things electrical.
The 3 days employed is probably 70% install with the rest being maintenance and inspection and testing. It involves lots of armoured cable installs and working in historic buildings.
The two days self employed tend to be 70% maintenance but with a lot of mechanical controls and fan motor changes etc. but also lots of ballasts, inverters and lamps! The other 30% is installation with the occasional plant room install as well.
I generally get out of bed feeling fairly enthusiastic and don't have to think about it too much when I get home!
