What limations do you put on a Eicr.

On a Eicr on agreed limations of iinpections what do you normally put
And what percentage do you test at..

Depends on installation & agreed limitations
Usually DB 100% 70% of final circuits 50% of accessories on these circuits.
Operational limitations may also exist ie: Isolation of DB/CU & circuits not possible during this EICR

When doing domestics I try to avoid too mant limitations , if I can get to every accessory I will do my best to do so.
I always go in the loft ( i know plent sparks who don't ) and as part of my day I will do all out buildings and any garden wiring etc again I know sparks who just say outdoor wiring unchecked for example.
My honest opinion is if you can't do an Eicr fully in domestics then there is no point.

Commercial / Industrial is a totally different ball game

YEs i should have mentioned as a one man band I won't move any heavy stuff like those big American fridge / freezers and I won't lift down any wall mounted flat TVs etc. This is more a manual handling limitation / coverning my own ---.

Wouldn't really agree. It shouldn't be necessary (and indeed may be undesirable) to remove every faceplate for inspection - even in a domestic property. There is a risk of introducing faults doing this. Around 20% of accessories should be perfectly adequate.
But the short answer as to what to include in the agreed limitations is whatever limitations have been agreed with the Client.

On a Domestic 100% of circuits.
minimum 10% of accessories per circuit opened as a starting point, increased at the faintest whiff of something not right at either the opened accessory or the installation in general. 100% of accessories risks unnecessary damage to the decor and increases the risk of introducing a fault. Practically on a circuit I would open the usual suspects for dodginess first and take it from there.
Things like shower circuits I would open the isolator and the unit.
Visual of all accessible faceplates and accessories.
Testing 100% at board, global IR test. Testing at multiple points of lighting circuits if end point isn't obvious.
My take on it is that the IET have a fairly good idea of what is needed on an EICR and that sampled inspections are the way forward.

Each installation is different some can be rattled through very quickly, others raise flags and need significantly more time.

IMO regarding these reports, its all about observation with what you are seeing with your eyes ( very good tool) If the installation on the whole is looking good any sockets you take off, light switches, drop any light fittings etc all fine then no need to take every single one off. Its called sampling
However if what your seeing is absolutely awful the more you are going to investigate and drill down on.
Its going to be 100% at the CU because your testing from there.
Who calculates R1 R2 off r1 r2 on RFC or does anybody do fig 8 and go round to every socket ? (just curious)
