Hi all, am a little confused at moment with the change of 2391, nvq etc.

Basically, im doing 2330 level 3 and have exams shortly, what would be my next option to study? The inspection and testing and 17th edition i was thinking. At the moment im not in the electrical industry (have around 4 yrs experience around 5 yrs ago though) and hope to get back hands on. Just looking for advice where to go next.

Should i join Niceic, napit etc? What do i need to have for those?

I wouldnt mind doing t&i on domestics and mainly domestic work until i gain some experience.

Cheers
Adam

So are you thinking of setting up on your own? You need testers public liability and 17th to go part p.
They will come out and check your capable of doing the job properly it's not as easy as it sounds. Good luck though chap.

Yeah i will set up on own, i take i need both parts of the old 2391 and 17th edition, so i would need to do these before i did part p to do any domestic work?

Some places are still doing 2391 so if you can do it go for it, go on napit or elecsa website they will have an app form for you. Just apply or email them asking for more details.

Yeah lad it's ridiculous money. I've done 2330 on my apprenticeship and just finishing the NVQ I thought about part p but I haven't got the dollar to start up I don't think. Good luck with it all

I find it amazing how the government are trying to get new businesses started, yet they let colleges overprice the courses so they are out of reach for most younger people.

Humm..Rant over.
