Hello, I have been reading through other threads and benefitting from seeing the fantastic advice you have to offer. However, I still have still have some questions and would be thankful for advice.

Q1) I'm 25 years old, got Computer science degree, A-levels in Maths, Computer science and Electronics. Am I required to take level 2 and 3 diploma course or could I proceed with only level 3? I obviously understand in order to become an Electrician it entails patience, hard work and lots of experience.

Q2) I'm currently working outside of UK but will be returning in September. Is it possible to do level 2 or 3 online for theory whilst outside country then complete practical upon returning to UK?

NVQ3 and AM2 will get you graded as an Electrician with the JIB. Google that as there are a few ways people are doing it, but ultimately, that is what you need now. The theory side will be a breeze for you as is at a much lower level than you have been working.

Thank you for replying. Yeah, I'm not too concerned about the theory side it's more the practical and how employable I'd be with such lack of experience. Does the following plan look reasonable?

Year 1: c&g 2635 level 2 Electrical installation diploma (part time)
Year 2: c&g 2635 level 3 Electrical installation diploma (part time)
Year 3: Find role as Electrician mate
Year 4: Trainee Electrician and NVQ 3
Year 5: Qualified Electrician

Yes, that would be a perfect plan and you would come out of it both qualified and experienced
