Looking at PIR on a TT system. Noticed that the neutral tail is made up multistrands. Should have taken a photo. Does anyone know what size these are?

You say its a TT, in that case it sounds like straight concentric. The neutral strands are bare and completely surround the live inner core, similar construction to swa.

Edit - Just noticed you said the individual strands are insulated, that would indicate split concentric which would normally be used for TNS or TNCS.
