The customer wants me to supply power in the bathroom for a 'wash loo'.

He doesn't know the exact one he wants but it will be something very similar to his partners, which he has sent pictures of. See below.

I wondered if I can use the lighting circuit as it will be the easiest way to get power, i.e come down from the loft, but I need to find a power rating first. Does anyone know what sort of power these things use?

I think they provide warm water, I'm not sure if this is plumbed or electrically heated. Also, I think it has some kind of blown air function, which I'm guessing may be warm, thus using a bit of power. Plus maybe a warm seat function.

Cheers all 😃

The lighting circuit will be unsuitable, I'd say it'll draw around 1.5kW when heating water, maybe even a little more. So a FCU from a convenient ring or even 16a radial back to the CU if nearby as an alternative.

Edit - I do believe that some people have more money than sense - what's wrong with just giving your @rse a good wipe. It'll/should have a daily shower anyway. 😀

Cheers Dave,
I thought that might be the case, pity.
Completely agree, it's going to cost a fortune to get power there now, just to have a bit of warm water on your bum!

Good of you to reply after I took the mickey 😄

From the Clos-o-mat installation instructions:

220-240V single phase AC supply is required, (loading 4.5A-4.9A, maximum power 1300 watts). The Closomat toilet is supplied with a 3 core cable attached and MUST NOT be removed or replaced. A 10A fused spur is required for isolation.
