How can you test the insulation resistance once the panels are connected, as they are in series you'll get continuity between + & - on the DC isolator? I have only been testing the DC cables from inverter mounting bracket terminals (before inverter is mounted) , through DC isolator, to the plugs out on the roof before panels are installed? Also I wasn't sure if i'd damage the panels in the process.

I take it this is wrong, could somebody please clarify how they are doing it as I don't tend to go on the roof until the panels are all connected with irradiance meter

DTI guide gives 2 methods
1) take + and - seperately and test between each and earth + mountings
2) Short circuit + & - then test between the short circuit point and earth + mountings

Insulation test won't damage panels
