Me thinks the bigissue here is its all irrelevant- Surely its a rewire ! Magic learning though! I have a few antique bits also, and sections of more modern stuff where I have cut a fault out, must throw it out, but cant!!

If it's irrelevant weather it's a BS88 or a BS1361 and it's a rewire job, then what would you put on the cetificate? :(

ok so what you are saying is that that fuse is gonna stay in and not be changed by the supplier, i.e. upgraded. Well thats easy, what ever it says on the side of the fuse goes on the certificate.

:eek:All i'm saying is that the cut out fuse has been removed in this case so yeah i agree you should put down whats written on the side of the fuse.......But in the cases where your doing a rewire or just doing some minor works or even putting in a new circuit so you have to do a minor/ installion certificate but you dont know what the cut out fuse is and you can't remove the cut out fuse to look ( in situations like this what do you put on the certificate then ???? ) :)

For some reason i cant get back to the first post,my assumption would be that the supplier would replace the cutout for the latest one. If a fuse cant be identified, Then all I can suggest is that an installer takes all reasonable grounds to identify it. If the **** hits the fan at a later date, Then if he can say, I took steps to identify it with colleagues (post photos on here ) I asked the supplier (never replied ) and took photos and stuck them to the minor /works installation certificate then one should be in the clear of any blame in the future.
