Hi,

For electrical exams I have 2330 lvl 3 and 17th, I am doing my NVQ so if I was young and had not been to uni I would be an apprentice.

However I have been told that due to my level 4 quals I cannot be an apprentice.

So I have a couple of questions.

1: What am I currently classified as?

2: What would I have to do to squeeze myself in to the 'provisional electrician' - I do not understand what this achievement measurement 2 thing is, it seems much lower than the 2330 lvl3.

Any suggestions, I am far too old to be on an apprentice wage and need help getting a different title!

The key part I need to fufill 'provisional electrician' are:

have obtained Achievement Measurement 2 or must be able, with the application for Grading and any other relevant supporting evidence (i.e. the City & Guilds Electricians' Certificate) which may be required, to satisfy the Grading Committee of his experience and suitability.

Just remembered I only answered half of my question, still need help on the other half!

I cannot be an apprentice, but lack an AM2 or NVQ, so what level sparky should I be?

If you have nt got the NVQ and arent on a apprentership JIB will give the grade there feel most suits your quailfacations LABOURER!!!!
Iv got 2330 levels 2@3 2391 17th part pee(i no its not a qual before any 1 starts) oh and iv done my ECS H@S test.....
Im self employed and thats what i got told, Unless you work for a firm then you MITE get graded as a trainee...
Basicly JIB a bunch of (Incert swear word) who in my opinion need to rethink some of there gradings.
Im fully aware im not a full blown sparky without my NVQ in there eyes, But to be classed as a labourer takes the MICK.. Something in the middle would be fin, Id glady have a JIB with Halfwit(If it at least listed my Quals to date) on it then labourer!! Im in no way mocking the labour card but you dont need a electrical quailfacation on any kind to get it!! You bury you head in the books for a couple of years to get graded as that!!!!
They need shooting with a ball of there own ****E IMO.. Rant over!!
