Following on from post yesterday....

Went to call out, shocks off pipes and bath water.. dodgy as!!

Basically no main earth, old TT.

Rented property, landlord was sound moved tenants in spare flat upstairs.

I took all fuses out and turned off at main switch. Gave fuses to landlord who is going to contact DNO for PME upgrade.

Just wondering what is the right thing to do here legally. Is there anything else I should/could have done...?

Just thinking of situation where the landlord might not be so 'easy going'

Cheers Sy

Changing the installation to a TNC-S might not be the only problem.

Was all other main and supplementary bonding in place?

With no earth property supply is dangerous if you get a stroppy landlord/customer notify the DNO if they agree with your findings and consider it dangerous they can disconnect until faults are put right.

Think I'd rather have a claim against me for freezer full of food than someone dying from electric shock :D

Luckily landlord was one of the much better ones I had come across....

Cheers Sy

Presumably there is an IR fault somewhere, did you not test the installation?.....you will need to install main bonding and sort any faults before tncs goes in.

Yes checked all that at same time, and quite a few IR faults present....

2 x lighting circuits, ring and cooker all less tham 2Mohms.

Will be sorting that out later this week, along with bonding.

DNO can not do anything for another 6 weeks... !!
