What your favourite part of being an electrician

As the title says, what is everyone favourite part of the job?, is it meeting new people, fault finding, design or install or anything in between

Finding a fault that no other ‘electrician’ can find. Happens often and usually very simple.

Gets me quite a bit of work as the customer usually can’t believe I’ve made such short work of it and recommends me to everyone they know ??

I don't really know. I just enjoy working. Though it's cool going back to work I've done 10+ years ago and saying 'I did that'.

We get that a bit as well

Quite often I walk in with my son (who is just qualified at 22) and he fixes a 'problem' that 2 electricians could not fix before in under 20 mins

Really like ev chargers, renewables etc.. but actually the pay is good! Not many jobs let you earn £300 for something that starts at 9 finished and home by 3!!
Only people i can think who do similar are the boiler engineers and Nastasia the Russian girl in Bath who I installed cctv for... She charges.her customers £100 per half hour!!

She's cheaper if you have a Nectar card.

as above posts, fault finding example, after 2-3 other sparks have given up. one such was a fluctuating Zs on sockets. averaging 50 -70 ohms. PME earting. 1st spafk gave up. 2nd spark bonded the sink altough it wass fed with plastic water pipe. me gets there.30 minutes find the N-E link in cut-out slack.1/2turn on the 3mm hex. Zs back to 0.6.\ze from 46 ohms down to 0,2.

I always liked that slightly smug feeling when a customer rang up saying they had changed a light fitting themselves and now it's all gone bang. We all know what they had done wrong and was usually easy to sort.
I'm out of the trade now but I genuinely enjoyed sorting things out for people. I was never going to make too much money because I am too soft,in fact, I fitted a light for an old lady once for a dozen duck eggs lol but I got a satisfaction from knowing I helped somebody
