What's a Plug Socket ??

Just wanted to get something off my chest......
Don't you hate it when a customer asks...can I have an extra Plug Socket.
What the hell is a plug socket???
I know a (domestic) plug is typically a 3 pin plug conforming to BS1363, and I know that a (domestic) socket is typically the type we all see on the walls in our homes that accepts the BS1363 plug.
BUT WHAT IS A PLUG SOCKET???
Is it just me who's gears grind whenever I hear that phrase?

We don't rise to that kind of provocation. Anyhow you cant initialise the correct terms and keep them discrete.

We need a convention?

RiFC for a ring main?

RaFC for a radial?
